Starting this project, I need my groups ideas and input to figuring out what genre we want to do. I already have a ton of ideas for filming and shots and angles I want to include but first I have to discuss with my group. Once we know what genre we want to work on, we will start thinking of ideas of what type of scene we want to create. Of course, I've had an idea already since my teacher announced the project. I want to work on a script as it will set up the pacing, the characters, and how the audience will experience the story created. Along with the script, I also want to create a storyboard to help us visualize each shot before we start filming. Both the script and storyboard will help my group and I stay organized and make sure that we have a clear understanding of how the film opening will go.
A big part of our planning process will also be making sure we have the right locations and props. Since we only have a limited amount of time to film everything, I want to make sure we're prepared and not worrying and scrambling at the last minute to figure out where we're shooting or what props need. It would also be helpful to have a list of shots that we are filming each day. I just want everything to go as smoothly as possible so that we can focus on making our film opening the best we could. I know things cannot always go exactly as people plan, but these planning tools will make it easier along the way.
